Field Aviation (Field) has extended its contract with the Swedish Coast Guard (SCG) to provide engineering, maintenance and logistics support for the SCG's three Dash 8 Q300 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA). The original contract began in 2009, and with this new agreement will continue for another 5 years, until 2021, with an option to renew for two additional years.

Field in turn, has renewed its subcontract agreement with Saab AB (Saab) to provide technical monitoring, spares provisioning and maintenance services for the MPA and associated systems. Field's internationally recognized special mission aircraft and engineering services, paired with Saab's proven maintenance support capabilities, provide a comprehensive and cost effective solution for the SCG. Under the terms of Field's contract with the SCG, Saab will carry out turnkey maintenance activities at the SCG base at Nyköping, Sweden and elsewhere around the world as operational assignments dictate.

In 2008, Field delivered the last of three Dash 8 Q300's to the SCG which Field had modified into the role of MPA. Given the critical nature of the MPA in SCG service, providing maritime domain awareness and other essential services, it is critical that the SCG be provided with efficient, accurate and rapid access to engineering and maintenance support services. Field and its subcontractor partner, Saab, provide this service to the SCG throughout the year, on a 24/7 basis.

Field is known for its uniquely engineered products and services, and the modification and conversion of aircraft for special mission purposes. These capabilities have made Field a world leader in the adaptation of commercial aircraft for special purpose use; ranging from flight inspection to electronic surveillance to maritime patrol and search and rescue. Special mission aircraft modified by Field are today serving Governments throughout the world providing a range of essential services.
